ROBOMED

Mobile Robot System for Transport and Dispensing of Medicines in Hospital Precincts

The project aims to develop an automatic robotised transport system for the delivery of medicines, in unit doses, to hospitalised patients. This procedure will make it possible to control the traceability of medicines in the last phase of their administration, from the moment they leave the hospital pharmacy until they reach the patient.

The system will also be configurable for dispensing medication to outpatients. The transport system consists of several units of intelligent, self-propelled robot trolleys in connection with the hospital's IT applications in accordance with the quality and safety standards established for healthcare environments. Its implementation will streamline the centre's pharmaceutical management and optimise the daily care process for patients, as it keeps a record of the doses administered in order to establish a correct follow-up of treatments.

PROINGESA considers the development of this project to be strategic as, given its specialisation in Robotic Hospital Logistics, it will provide the opportunity to become the Spanish company of reference in Robotic Transport Systems.

Research project corresponding to the MICINN's INNPACTO 2011 sub-programme, coordinated by the company PROINGESA, as part of the Strategic Health Action within the framework of the National Plan for Scientific Research, Development and Technological Innovation 2008-2011.

It has the HispaRob Quality Seal.
