New construction processes using 3D printing
The main objective of this project is the development of new 3D printing technologies in full-scale construction, together with the development of new ranges of materials and new design tools to automate the multiple processes involved in the construction and renovation of buildings.
The objectives of the project are to develop new 3D printing systems for the refurbishment of envelopes by direct printing on vertical elements, such as existing façades (which is a truly innovative and unprecedented challenge), and the production of prefabricated elements "à la carte" (without the need for moulds or formwork). These printing systems will work with new ranges of interior and exterior materials based on cement, lime, gypsum and mixed mixtures, specially developed for extrusion application.
Place of execution of the project: PROINGESA, C/ Acero, nº5 naves 4 and 5, Polígono Industrial San Cristobal, Valladolid.
Project implementation period: 46 months (01/11/2014 to 31/08/2018).
Project budget: €819,389.00.
